The American University student body voted Thursday in the Undergraduate Student Government Election on a referendum, Senate-at-large seats, school Senate seats, class Senate seats and School of Communication Council vacancies in anticipation of the new legislative session. 949 students cast a ballot.
In a referendum calling for the student representative on the Board of Trustees to be granted voting power, 89.88 percent of voters selected “Yes.” Now that the student body passed the referendum, it will go to the Board for consideration.
In the race for School of Communication senate, no candidate won the seat, and it will remain vacant. According to Max Morse-deBrier, the parliamentarian, elections administrator and acting clerk for the SG Elections Commission, the seat will be filled once a nomination is made by the speaker pro tempore — who will be elected at the first Senate meeting — and the vice president.
The following results are the winners of the races for senators-at-large, school Senate seats, class Senate seats and SOC Council vacancies:

Kasey Bernat with 27.89 percent of the vote.
Lila Barron with 26.06 percent of the vote.
Kaden Ouimet with 25.60 percent of the vote.
Quinn Fitzpatrick with 24.57 percent of the vote.
Sydney Witek with 23.66 percent of the vote.
Connor Thompson with 22.86 percent of the vote.
Ava Falkenrath with 22.74 percent of the vote.

Michael Bruk with 52.26 percent of the vote.

Aidan Palmer with 45.73 percent of the vote.
Class of 2024 Undergraduate Senate:
Andrew Stahovec with 3.33 percent of the vote.
Class of 2025 Undergraduate Senate:
Elisabeth Prioletti with 92.42 percent of the vote.
Class of 2026 Undergraduate Senate:
Audrey Ernst with 91.91 percent of the vote.
Class of 2027 Undergraduate Senate:
Jackson St. Cyr with 44.16 percent of the vote.
SOC Council Vacancies:
Ericka Martinez for vice president with 100 percent of the vote.
Owen Auston-Babcock for treasurer with 50 percent of the vote.
Penelope Jennings for secretary with 28.57 percent of the vote.
